homecomingHomecoming stands out as the greatest orange-and-white celebration on the UT calendar. This year’s Homecoming activities culminate with students, faculty, staff, and alumni coming together for Saturday’s game against the Auburn Tigers.

Monday, November 4

Soapbox Derby: The Soapbox Derby race will begin at 3:00 p.m. and will take place along Volunteer Boulevard by the Stokely Athletic Center. Derby design and judging will begin right before racing commences.

Tuesday, November 5

Three-on-Three Basketball Tournament: The tournament will take place starting at 6:00 p.m. in the HPER Bubble and will finish with a championship game.

Homecoming Court Voting: Voting opens at noon and will be live through noon on Thursday. Students can vote from their profile page on go.utk.edu.

Wednesday, November 6

Smokey’s Howl Preliminary Competition: The preliminary competition of Smokey’s Howl will be from 7:00 to 10:00 p.m. in Thompson-Boling Arena.

Thursday, November 7

Smokey’s Howl Final Rounds: The final rounds of Smokey’s Howl will take place in Thompson-Boling Arena during halftime of the UT men’s basketball game against Southern Indiana.

Friday, November 8

Homecoming Parade: The Homecoming parade begins at 4:00 p.m. at the Rock at Pat Head Summitt Street and travels east on Volunteer Boulevard with Grand Marshal Carol Aebersold, creator of Elf on the Shelf.

Homecoming Comedy Show featuring Gary Owen: The comedy show begins at 7:30 p.m. at the Carolyn P. Brown Memorial University Center. Tickets can be purchased here.  

Saturday, November 9

Homecoming Tailgate 2013: The Black Cultural Programing Committee will host its 2013 Homecoming Tailgate from noon to 3:00 p.m. at the Black Cultural Center.

Trophy Presentations and Homecoming Highnesses: At the football game halftime, trophies will be presented to the organizations with the most points for each Homecoming event. After these presentations, the overall winner for Homecoming week will be announced. Also, the Homecoming Highnesses will be picked from the top ten Homecoming Court.

Fourteenth Annual Southeastern Stompfest: The annual Stompfest show will take place at 7:00 p.m. at the Knoxville Civic Auditorium. Students and the community can enjoy high-energy stepping performances by the National Pan-Hellenic Council fraternities and sororities. You can purchase tickets here.
