Vincent Carilli, current vice president for student affairs at the University of Scranton in Scranton, Pennsylvania, will be UT’s new vice chancellor for Student Life.
He will begin on January 1, 2014.
Carilli previously worked at UT as dean of students from 2000 to 2001 and as associate dean of students from 1998 to 2000. He has also held academic leadership positions at Southern Illinois University and East Stroudsburg University.
“When Dr. Carilli visited UT for his interviews, he made a very strong connection with students,” Chancellor Jimmy G. Cheek said. “He’s committed to helping our students have successful experiences both inside and outside the classroom.
“His experience at a diverse group of colleges and universities will help him bring a fresh approach and solid leadership for our Division of Student Life.”
Carilli has a doctorate in higher education from Southern Illinois University, a master’s degree in higher education from Kutztown University, and a bachelor’s degree in secondary education—biology from East Stroudsburg University.
