Fall_Fest13_webTake a break next Friday, October 18, and come down to the Fall Festival, from 11:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at TRECS. Now in its thirty-sixth year, the festival is the university’s way of thanking Knoxville-area faculty, staff, and retirees for their hard work.

Hosted by Human Resources, the event will feature health and nutritional information from a variety of on- and off-campus vendors. Lunch will be provided courtesy of the Office of Finance and Administration and will include hamburgers, hot dogs, and veggie burgers. Perennial favorite activities include BINGO, the cake walk, door prizes, and games provided by TRECS.

Fall FestivalSome health screenings will be offered at the festival, including body mass index, blood pressure, and cholesterol measurement. The university’s employee insurance vendors, including BlueCross BlueShield, Cigna, Magellan Health, and others, will be on hand. The Student Health Center pharmacy also will be there to answer questions about the services for employees.

Walgreens will be offering flu shots at the festival. Those wishing to receive a flu shot should download and fill out the Walgreens flu shot waiver and informed consent forms, and bring them to the Fall Festival. You should also bring your CVS Caremark Prescription Card and insurance card. Flu shots will be free to UT employees who provide their insurance and prescription cards. Walgreens also will accept insurance from non-UT employees, though the cost will be set by their respective insurance companies.

Many employees will have an opportunity to ride the campus’ new buses for the first time, as Parking Services and First Transit are providing shuttle services for the festival. Two shuttles will run continuously from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. View the full list of shuttle stops here. A third shuttle will pick employees up from UT Medical Center’s flag circle at 11:30 a.m. and will make return trips at 1:00 and 2:30 p.m.
