Subject: University Center Reopens After Robbery
The University Center is now open after authorities evacuated the building following a robbery at the UT Federal Credit Union branch inside the UC. No other changes have been made to campus operations today.
At around 11:30 a.m today, a black male wearing white scrubs, a white apron, and a white mask entered the bank branch and demanded money. He left a suspicious package at the scene which prompted the evacuation of the building. There were no injuries. Law enforcement bomb squad members have cleared the package and determined the building can reopen. The bank will remain closed for the rest of today.
The incident is still under investigation and anyone with information should contact the Knoxville Police Department at 865-215-7450.
