Potential law school applicants in East Tennessee are invited to attend a Law School Admission Workshop and Recruitment Fair on September 4 at the UT College of Law.

The workshop is free and no preregistration is necessary.

“Anyone considering law as a career who wants to know more about the law school admissions process should attend,” said Karen R. Britton, director of admissions and financial aid at the Bettye B. Lewis Career Center in the College of Law.

Scheduled activities include the following:

Admission Workshop, 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., Carolyn P. Brown Memorial University Center, Shiloh Room—Panelists will discuss how undergraduates can prepare for law school, the law school admission process, the LSAT, financing a legal education, and job market information for recent graduates.

Q & A with Admissions Officers, 12:30 to 1:30 p.m., University Center, Shiloh Room—Prospective students can talk about the admission process and seek advice during a panel discussion featuring admissions officers from public and private law schools: University of Cincinnati, Mercer University, Stetson University, UT, and Vanderbilt University.

Recruitment Fair, 2:00 to 4:00 p.m., College of Law Commons and Rotunda—Admissions representatives from law schools across the Southeast will meet with prospective students. In addition to UT, law schools planning to participate include the University of Alabama, Baylor, Belmont University, Charleston School of Law, University of Cincinnati, Emory University, Georgia State University, the University of Kentucky, Lincoln Memorial University, Louisiana State University, the University of Memphis, Mercer University, the University of Mississippi, Nashville School of Law, the University of Richmond, Samford University, the University of South Carolina, Stetson University, Vanderbilt University, Wake Forest University, and Washington and Lee University.

The College of Law is located at 1505 West Cumberland Avenue, directly across the street from the University Center. Paid parking is available in the Volunteer Hall Garage behind the law school on White Avenue.
