It’s finally here! Move-in day is Saturday, August 17, and it’s one of the most exciting – and busiest – days for our campus.

As you make your final preparations for the big day, check out the University Housing website for a checklist of what to bring, and some items that should be left at home.

Residence halls will open at 8:00 a.m. for all students. For maps and detailed driving directions for each residence hall, visit the Welcome Week website.

The University Housing office will be open from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday in Student Services Building Room 405. The office can be reached at 865-974-2571.

Volunteers from the campus and community will be on hand to help unload cars, and university staff will be available to answer questions for students and their families. The Office of Information Technology will be set up on Pedestrian Courtyard during the day Saturday through Tuesday to help troubleshoot any problems students may have setting up their computers or connecting to the university’s network.

Information tents will be set up around campus and UT Police officers will help direct traffic and point vehicles toward available parking areas.

Andy Holt Avenue will be adjusted to one-way traffic heading west for move-in day to accommodate the increased traffic.

For information on construction and improvement projects across campus, visit the Cone Zone.
