The Knoxville News Sentinel featured a study being conducted by professors in the College of Nursing which will study needs of  HIV/AIDS patients in Appalachia to find out more about the limited legal, emotional and medical help available to people dying of the disease in the region. The study, funded with a $420,000 grant from the National Institutes of Health, will focus on patients at all stages of HIV/AIDS in Alabama and Tennessee to determine what end-of-life service they may need in the future.
