Tony Spiva, a professor emeritus of economics, died Friday at the age of 85. His UT teaching career spanned more than fifty years. He retired at the end of 2012. He was a consultant and advisor in economic projects and programs worldwide in countries including Indonesia, Peru, Greece, Australia, and New Zealand. He also spent six months in China lecturing at Sichuan University and meeting with Chinese bankers and business leaders.
