Adam Ross, celebrated journalist and novelist, will read from his work on Monday, January 28, as part of the Writers in the Library series at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville.
The reading will be 7:00 p.m. in the Hodges Library Auditorium It is free and open to the public.
Ross’s first novel, Mr. Peanut, published in 2010, was a New York Times Notable Book. It involves both a murder mystery and an exploration of love and marriage.
His 2011 book of short stories, Ladies and Gentlemen, was included in the Kirkus Reviews list of best books of the year.
Ross grew up in New York City but has lived in Nashville since 1995. He wrote a column for the Nashville Scene, the city’s alternative weekly paper, from 1999 to 2003. He has published nonfiction articles in The New York Times Book Review, the Daily Beast, the Wall Street Journal and other publications. His fiction has appeared in Carolina Quarterly and FiveChapters.
Ross also was a child actor, appearing in commercials, TV shows, radio dramas and a movie, The Seduction of Joe Tynan. He also was the New York state champion in wrestling as a high school student.
