NIMBioS, in conjunction with James R. Cox Endowment Fund, is sponsoring a Songwriter-in-Residence Program to encourage the creation and production of songs involving ideas of 
modern biology and the lives of scientists who pursue research in biology. The singer-songwriters will come and spend a month at the institute, interact with scientists and compose songs based on the experience. R.B. Morris is the first resident in the program and speaks with the Metro Pulse about his experience. The hope is that the final product will be songs that exude the scientists’ passion and this passion will translate to the audiences who hear them, and perhaps these audiences will get interested in science. R.B. said in the interview it is “an amazing inspiration to be surrounded by all these great minds coming from so many different cultures.”
