KNOXVILLE –- Glenn Reynolds, a law professor at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, has been named one of the 10 most influential legal scholars in America by the Social Science Research Network.
Glenn ReynoldsThe Social Science Research Network is a Web site that promotes scholarship in economics, finance, accounting, management and law. It tracks 1,500 legal scholars and bases its rankings on readership of scholarly publications.
Academic papers can be posted to the SSNR by the author. Many scholarly papers are published to SSRN and similar sites before being submitted to academic journals. This is beneficial because it allows the authors to gather comments that can be incorporated into their papers before they are published in journals and also because it allows widespread dissemination of scholarly papers before they are published in journals that have restricted access.
Reynolds is the Beauchamp Brogan Distinguished Professor of Law. He teaches Internet law, constitutional law and national security law. He is a graduate of Yale Law School and was managing editor of the Yale Law and Policy Review and a founding director of the Yale Law and Technology Association.
Prior to coming to UT, Reynolds clerked for U.S. Court of Appeals Judge Gilbert S. Merritt and practiced law in Washington, D.C., and New York.
Reynolds is the author of numerous articles and books and is a frequent guest on TV news talk shows. He is also the creator of InstaPundit.com, a politics and technology-oriented blog that Wired Magazine has called the most popular on the planet.
