Have you signed up for UT Alert? More than 8,700 faculty, staff and students at the University of Tennessee have subscribed to the free emergency messaging system since it was introduced this summer.
The system, which sends a short message to a pager, PDA or any text-enabled cell phone as well as via e-mail, allows UT to communicate with members of the campus community quickly in the event of an emergency. Tracfone prepaid cell phones have also recently been added to the alert system.
Faculty, staff and students are encouraged to take just two minutes to sign up at http://www.utk.edu/utalert. All you need is your UT NetID and any mobile device you’ll be using to receive the messages.
