Admissions officials from UT’s law college and representatives from other law schools in the region will conduct the day’s events.

Karen Britton, director of admissions, financial aid and career services at UT’s College of Law, said the schools will have a chance to recruit a wide selection of applicants, and potential students can get information about law schools in the region.

“We’re excited to have the opportunity to showcase several of the best law schools in the United States, including the University of Tennessee, to East Tennesseans who are considering law school and would like to have face-to-face contact with the admissions professionals from those schools,” Britton said.

A 1 p.m. workshop will detail how to prepare for law school as an undergraduate, the admissions process, the Law School Admission Test (LSAT) and financing a legal education.

From 2 to 3 p.m., a panel of current UT law students will discuss life as a law student. Representatives from several Southeastern law schools will be available with admissions materials from 3 to 6 p.m.

“The current law school admissions environment is very competitive, but all law schools want to help candidates choose the law school that is right for them,” Britton said. “UT is excited to host this opportunity for potential law students from across East Tennessee.”
