KNOXVILLE — The University of Tennessee College of Law will host a Minority Law School Admission Workshop from 9 a.m. until noon, Saturday, Feb. 23, in Room 132, UT College of Law, 1505 W. Cumberland Ave.

UT Law Dean Thomas Galligan said the workshop is designed to inform minority groups from across East Tennessee about the law school admission process.

Galligan said college graduates, college students, college-bound high school students, pre-law and minority affairs advisors, high school guidance counselors, and principals from throughout the region are invited to attend.

Workshop sessions will focus on steps in the law school admissions process, how to finance a legal education and preparation for law school as an undergraduate. A panel of current minority law students will discuss their law school experience and local minority attorneys will discuss their careers in law.

The workshop is part of National Minority Law Recruitment Month and is sponsored by the Law School Admission Council, the UT College of Law, the UT Arts & Sciences Advising Services, and the Knoxville Bar Association.

Participation is free but pre-registration is requested by calling the UT College of Law Admissions Office at (865) 974-4131. Free parking will be available in the UT parking garage at 16th Street and White Avenue one block west of the College of Law.
