What You Need to Know About Commencement

Congratulations to all students receiving their degrees on Friday. Check out the full schedule of events and other commencement information. Use the hashtag #UTgrad2015 to share your commencement tweets and photos.


A Reminder About Residence Hall Closings

Residence halls close at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. You must check out of your residence hall before you leave for winter break. Halls will reopen for the spring semester at 1:00 p.m. Sunday, January 10. Laurel, Volunteer, and Clement Residence Halls will stay open during the break for students who have made prior arrangements.


Purchasing Your Spring Semester Textbooks

Spring semester textbooks are now available to purchase from the VolShop. Log on and get your custom book list, based on your spring semester classes. Ordering early gives you a better chance to purchase used books.



Register for Leadership Conference and Day of Service

Interested in serving the community while enhancing your leadership skills? Register now for the Center for Leadership and Service’s annual Clifton M. Jones Student Leadership Conference and MLK Jr. Day of Service beginning at 8:30 a.m. Saturday, January 16.


Don’t Forget to Make Flex Plan Refund Selection This Month

Do you have the Flex Plan? You can request a refund or rollover of unused Flex Dollars from December 11 through 31. During this time, you will be able to log on to your MyUTK account, click the link in the “Important Messages” section, and submit your selection. See a full list of options for your Flex Plan selection.


Represent UT at the Undergraduate Awards

Want to represent UT at the Undergraduate Awards in Dublin, Ireland, in November 2016? The awards ceremony recognizes research and creative activity across the globe. You can submit up to three pieces of coursework across twenty-five categories. Current students who are selected will receive travel scholarships to attend. Read more about submission requirements.
