Jazz for Tots Concert Provides Toys for Children

Twenty-seven years ago, Keith Brown wanted to find a way for the UT jazz program to give back to the community. Brown, a senior lecturer and adjunct associate professor of percussion, created Jazz for Tots—a benefit concert for the US Marine Corps Toys for Tots campaign featuring student jazz ensembles. Hay is the Quest Scholar of the Week
Jessica Hay, assistant professor of psychology, was recently awarded a five-year, $1.3 million dollar NIH grant for "Infant Statistical Learning: Resilience, Longevity, and Specificity." The grant addresses powerful computational mechanisms, often referred to as statistical learning mechanisms, which allow infants to track regularities in their environment. Quest, the campus's comprehensive research initiative, has selected Hay as its Scholar of the Week. Read more...
