Inskip Elementary Added to Community Schools Program

UT, in partnership with Knox County Schools, has added Inskip Elementary School as the newest member of its University-Assisted Community Schools initiative. Student Helps Uncover Grave of Bronze Age Warrior

Abby Durick, a junior classical archaeology student and Haslam Scholar, was on a team that recently uncovered the rich grave of a warrior dating back to the late Bronze Age. Durick joined the University of Cincinnati dig team in Pylos, Greece, for the 2015 Pylos Excavations. Read more...

Ewing Gallery to Host Tim Rollins for Lecture
UT's Ewing Gallery will host an artist lecture featuring renowned artist Tim Rollins on November 12. Rollins is known for launching the Art and Knowledge Workshop in the Bronx in 1984, with a group of educationally challenged and at-risk students who called themselves K.O.S. (Kids of Survival). His lecture will be at 7:30 p.m. in Room 109 of the Art + Architecture Building. The lecture is sponsored by the Ewing Gallery, VADSCO (Visiting Artists Designers Scholars Committee), UT’s Visual Arts Committee, and UT Painting and Drawing. Read more...

Historian to Speak About Clothing in the Aegean Bronze Age

Anne Chapin, an art historian specializing in Aegean wall paintings, will discuss the variety of costumes worn in the Bronze Age during a lecture at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, November 12.
