Diversity Dialogue Town Hall Event: Campus Carry

The Diversity Committee of the Division of Student Life will host the final Diversity Dialogue Town Hall event of the semester at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, November 15, in Alumni Memorial Building Room 32. Participants will discuss the recently passed campus concealed carry permit law, which allows full-time employees with valid handgun permits to carry a concealed handgun on university property. Journalism Students Cover World Food Championships

As the World Food Championships—sometimes called the Olympics of the culinary world—take place in Orange Beach, Alabama, UT is behind the scenes and on the sidelines. Journalism and Electronic Media Professors Rob Heller and Nick Geidner took students to photograph and video the championships, which include a military chef challenge and cooking competitions focused on bacon, steak, seafood, recipes, sandwiches, burgers, barbecue, chili, and desserts. Education Center Designed by UT Students, Faculty Earns Top Design Awards
The College of Architecture and Design was recently awarded the 2016 Honor Award by the American Institute of Architects East Tennessee for its design of the Beardsley Farm Education Center, a project of the college’s design/build program. The new center provides a classroom, office spaces, and restrooms for local residents, volunteers, and farm staff. The center was designed and largely built by UT students, led by architecture professors Jennifer Akerman and Bob French. Read more...
