University to Break Ground on Mossman Building Thursday

You are invited to the groundbreaking of the new Mossman Building at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, October 29, at the construction site on the corner of Cumberland Avenue and 13th Street. The Mossman Building will add needed classroom and laboratory space to campus and will house portions of microbiology, biochemistry, cellular and molecular biology, psychology, and nutrition. Tennessee Veterans Memorial, National Roll Call Part of Today's Veterans Day Observances
The Remembering Our Fallen Tennessee memorial is on display in the Communications Building for the month of November and is part of the fifth annual National Day of Remembrance and Roll Call event today. The Roll Call begins at 10:00 a.m. and runs until 2:00 p.m. in Circle Park. Faculty, staff, and student volunteers will read aloud the names of the 140-plus Tennessee veterans and some of the other service members who have died in the line of duty since September 11, 2001. Professor Annette Engel Named to Same Society as First Man on the Moon

A UT professor has joined the ranks of explorers who landed on the moon, studied chimpanzees, and led Antarctic expeditions. Annette Engel, associate professor of earth and planetary sciences, was recently elected as a fellow of the Explorers Club, an international, multidisciplinary professional society that promotes the scientific exploration of land, sea, air, and space. Partnerships That Make a Difference: MBA Innovation in Practice Course

Every first-year, full-time student in the MBA program is required to complete Innovation in Practice, a service-learning capstone course in partnership with a local nonprofit organization. This program is an outgrowth of work that UT MBA students have been doing with nonprofits since 2004, and involves up to ten faculty and seventy students every year. Read more...
