College of Engineering Announces $150M Fundraising Goal

The College of Engineering announced Friday that it is undertaking an ambitious drive to raise $150 million. The college, now in its 177th year, seeks to secure its continued success and has raised $101 million of its goal since the effort informally began in 2012. Honorary Admission Given to Sixteen-year-old Cancer Patient in North Carolina

Sixteen-year-old Noah Hays of Charlotte, North Carolina, got a Big Orange surprise last week. The high school junior and lifelong Volunteer fan has stage 4 rhabdomyosarcoma, an aggressive and rare cancer of the muscle and bone marrow. The Institute for Smart Structures is a research center that combines materials science, engineering, and architecture to solve immediate problems and provide revolutionary concepts for new applications. Over the last decade, the institute has been a key partner in constructing three net-zero prototype buildings.
