Tuesday is Deadline to Register to Vote; Baker Center to Host Early Voting October 31 – November 4
Tomorrow is the deadline to register to vote in the general election. Early voting begins October 19 and continues through November 3. The general election is set for November 8. The Howard H. Baker Jr. Center for Public Policy will host early voting for all Knox County registered voters from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. October 31 through November 3. Read more...

UT's Clark Provides Insight in Wake of New Jersey Train Crash
UT's David Clarke, director of the Center for Transportation Research, has shared his expertise in the wake of a rail disaster. Clarke, who is also an associate research professor of civil engineering, spoke with the Associated Press about the crash of a NJ Transit commuter train into the terminal in Hoboken, New Jersey. WUOT: Feller on Political Battles in Andrew Jackson Presidency, Release of New Jackson Papers
WUOT 91.9 FM recently interviewed Dan Feller, professor of history, about the political battles brewing during Andrew Jackson's presidency–many of which are similar to what is happening this presidential election season. Feller also discussed the release of a new volume of the Papers of Andrew Jackson, a UT project dedicated to transcribing and publishing the president's entire written record. UT Gardens Celebrates New “Nest” Treehouse

UT Gardens held an open house to celebrate the opening of its new Treehouse on Friday. Nicknamed the “Nest,” the treehouse is designed to engage children with nature and teach the benefits of trees. The treehouse is the signature element of a larger UT Gardens project. Work is underway on a new Children’s Discovery Garden scheduled to open next spring. Read more...
