University Prepares for 2015 Volunteer Football Season

In just ten days, UT will welcome Vol fans and visitors to Rocky Top for an exciting season of Volunteer football at Neyland Stadium. The Vols will face the Oklahoma Sooners at 6:00 p.m. Saturday, September 12, in Neyland Stadium. The UT Police Department reminds fans that alcoholic beverages, cans, bottles, and coolers are prohibited in Neyland Stadium. Read more...

UT Alert Test Set for 1:10 p.m. Today
The university plans to test the UT Alert text and e-mail messaging system at 1:10 p.m. today. To ensure that the entire campus receives notification during an emergency, the UT Alert system sends messages to every student, faculty, and staff e-mail account. Read more...

In the Red Zone: How to Prevent Sexual Assault
The Center for Health Education and Wellness wants the university community to help change the statistics of sexual assault on college campuses. Red Zone is a term used to describe the period in the fall semester when students are statistically more at risk for sexual assault. Read more...

Embodying Enlightenment Exhibit Opens at McClung Museum on September 11
The McClung Museum is preparing to host an exhibit of gilded statues of Buddhist deities and colorful paintings from the eighth century to the present. The exhibit will open on September 11 and run through January 3, 2016. Embodying Enlightenment: Buddhist Art of the Himalayas explores the rich history of Buddhist art from Tibet, Nepal, China, and India, and how trade and travel fostered the artistic tradition that continues today. UT Launches Nuclear Security Publication
The International Journal of Nuclear Security, a peer-reviewed journal that publishes scholarly articles and research related to all aspects of nuclear security, is now available online and free to the public. The new journal is produced through a collaboration of the Department of Nuclear Engineering, the Department of English, and the Institute for Nuclear Security based in the Howard H.
