Information for Faculty and Staff about Concealed Handgun Law

UTPD Chief Troy Lane shared information about the registration process for full-time employees with concealed handgun permits who plan to carry a concealed weapon on campus. The university has adopted a new safety policy concerning firearms and has posted a list of commonly asked questions. Read more...

Thursday Football Game Requires Tweaks to Academic Calendar
With UT’s football season opener moved up two days to Thursday, September 1, the university has adjusted the fall academic calendar. The campus will have an administrative closing on September 1. Classes will not be held that day and most campus offices will be closed. Read more...

From Air Force to UT, Whites Prove 'Like Father, Like Son'
Andy White had a twenty-year career as an Air Force officer before retiring as a lieutenant colonel in 2007 and returning to his alma mater, where he is now director of the Aerospace and Defense Business Institute in the Haslam College of Business. UT Recognized for Green Efforts
Earlier this year, UT's Office of Sustainability was recognized as a STARS Silver Institution and a Top Green Power User by the Association for the Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education. The university was recognized for its dedication to campus-wide sustainability programs that include Zero Waste Game Days, the Food Recovery Network, its VOLstarter program, and the Green Revolving Fund. 'Be Not Afraid of Greatness:' Students Engage With Middle-Schoolers through Theater
For rising sixth-graders, middle school can seem as foreign as Stratford-upon-Avon.
