Chancellor Reaffirms Commitment to Diversity

Last week the Tennessee legislature voted to take all funding away from the Office for Diversity and Inclusion and to use that money to fund minority engineering scholarships for the fiscal year July 1, 2016, through June 30, 2017. That bill now goes to Governor Haslam for his signature. On Friday, Chancellor Jimmy G. Cheek said he is disappointed in this action, but it is important to continue to create an environment where diversity, inclusion, and civility is embraced. President Joe DiPietro expressed his gratitude to all who stood up for this key issue and also stressed that UT's commitment remains unchanged. Read more...

Campus Quirks: Odd but Wonderful Things about UT

Albrecht Honored for Extraordinary Service to University
Last week, Chancellor Jimmy G. Cheek celebrated faculty, staff, and students for their accomplishments throughout the past academic year. Mary Albrecht, associate vice provost for accreditation, has been with UT for twenty years and was honored for her work on the Top 25 strategic plan and the 2015 reaffirmation for SACSCOC accreditation.
