Lenoir City Is Next Smart Communities Initiative Partner
Lenoir City has been chosen as UT’s 2016-17 Smart Communities Initiative partner, and faculty and students will be working on a collection of projects to enhance the community’s downtown central business district. Moving into its third year, SCI pairs faculty and students with Tennessee cities, counties, special districts, and other governmental organizations to engage in real-world problem solving. Ashley Maynor Named "Mover and Shaker" in Library World
Digital humanities librarian Ashley Maynor has been named a "mover and shaker" in the library world. In its March 15 issue, Library Journal profiled fifty-four up-and-coming information professionals who are shaping the future of libraries. Maynor was recognized for developing new ways for university scholars to share their research in digital forms, and for helping grieving communities confront gun violence through transmedia storytelling. Clarence Brown Theatre Announces 2016–17 Season
The Clarence Brown Theatre has announced its lineup for the 2016–17 season, which includes Violet, The Crucible, This Is Our Youth, A Christmas Carol, Outside Mulling, The Busy Body, Top Girls, and Around the World in 80 Days. Sales for season ticket renewals are underway. Sales for new season tickets begins April 22. Faculty and staff can buy an eight-show pass for $95 or a CBT and Carousel Theatre productions pass for $75, an almost 50 percent discount from the full-price adult subscription cost. Read more...

Students to Bathe Dogs During Spring Cleaning Event

Got a dirty dog? Join the College of Veterinary Medicine's Class of 2019 Annual Spring Cleanin', 11:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m. Sunday, April 17. This community-friendly event will be held at the veterinary college at 2407 River Drive. It will feature a dog wash, adoption event, games, and face painting.
