Innovation Award Ceremony Honors UT Researchers

The UT Research Foundation recognized eighty-eight UT researchers for their discoveries and commercialization efforts made within the last two years during the 2016 Innovation Award Ceremony in January. Honorees included recipients of patents from the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, as well as inventors of technologies that were licensed to outside companies, and those who had created a start-up company based on their technology. College of Nursing Awarded Grant to Support Doctoral Nursing Students

The Jonas Center for Nursing and Veterans has awarded $20,000 to the College of Nursing. The grant will fund scholarships for two doctoral nursing students for the upcoming fall semester. Jonas awarded the grant to help address the nursing faculty shortage, which is expected to worsen as the nation’s population ages. Read more...

Lecture Explores Upward Mobility Issues for Black Male Professionals March 3

A UT lecture will explore the interactions of professional black men in a predominantly white male workplace at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, March 3. Adia Harvey Wingfield, a professor of sociology at Washington University, will present the lecture, "No More Invisible Man: Professional Black Men's Gendered Interactions in Predominantly White Male Workplaces," in the McCarty Auditorium of the Art and Architecture Building.
