Students Earn Opportunity to Chat with Space Station

A group of students from UT and a trio of Knoxville high schools will get an out-of-this-world opportunity Wednesday to chat with an astronaut on the International Space Station. The results of the live discussion will be made available at a public event at 5 p.m. Thursday, March 2. Read more...

Bredesen Center Student Presents During Graduate Education Week
Vidya Kishore represented UT at Legislative Plaza in Nashville as part of Graduate Education Week earlier this month. Kishore, a doctoral student at the Bredesen Center, joined other graduate students from institutions across the state in a morning poster session, where she talked with legislators and government staff about her research. Undergraduate Research Expert to Lead Workshops
Jeffrey Osborn, dean of the School of Science at the College of New Jersey, will visit campus March 29–30 to lead faculty workshops, "Integrating Undergraduate Research, Scholarship, and Creative Activity into the Curriculum." Happy Birthday (and Good Night), Andrew!

When Andrew Kochamba asked for a bedtime story on his birthday, RA Quamir Boddie made good on his promise to make UT a little more like home. A News Sentinel story describes what happened next: "Kochamba's tweet chronicling the event has since garnered over 12,000 retweets and nearly 60,000 likes with people making memes of the world's most helpful RA and calling Boddie's feat 'next level RAing.'" Refugees, Displacement, and Resettlement

On February 24, more than 100 people from the Knoxville community attended "Refugees, Displacement, and Resettlement: A UT Conference and Workshop." The workshop was organized by professors in the departments of Child and Family Studies and Anthropology.
