McClung Museum Hosts 'Mr. Mummy,' Bob Brier, for Lecture Today
The McClung Museum will host Bob Brier, one of the world's foremost experts on mummies and Egyptology, to lecture at 7:30 p.m. today. Brier, known as "Mr. Mummy," worked with Ronald Wade of the Maryland State Anatomy Board in 1994 to become the first people in 2,000 years to mummify a human cadaver in the ancient Egyptian style, using ancient tools and materials. College of Law to Host Civil Rights Cold Case Event

Local experts and a UT forensic anthropologist will take on a civil rights-era cold-case murder investigation from 2 to 4 p.m. Friday, February 24, during a special event sponsored by the College of Law. "Cold Case: Justice for Elbert Williams" will explore the death of the first NAACP official in the nation murdered for his civil rights work. Williams was killed June 20, 1940, in Brownsville, Tennessee. Read more...
