Student Heads to New York to Work Spring Fashion Week

As the spring New York Fashion Week gets underway, public relations student Cartter Stout will be hard at work behind the scenes of the shows. Stout, a junior from Nashville, returned to New York Monday to work Fashion Week after she interned with fashion, beauty, and luxury market public relations firm BPCM last summer. In Memoriam: Zachary Woodall
Zachary Lee Woodall, a staff member in Facilities Services and a UT graduate, died Thursday, February 4. He was 42. His family will receive friends 4:00 to 6:00 today, at Central Baptist Church of Bearden with memorial service beginning at 6:00 p.m. Read more...

Researcher Urges Caution on Rewilding to Restore Wild Spaces
Efforts to restore land back to its natural state by reintroducing wild animals have become increasingly popular in recent years. A study co-authored by Dan Simberloff, the Gore-Hunger Professor of Environmental Studies in the Department of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology, says scientific evidence supporting the potential benefits of this form of restoration is limited at best. The introduction of species into new places is often met with unexpected negative consequences for the environment. Read more...

Faculty Appreciation Week Begins Monday
Faculty Appreciation Week begins Monday and runs through Sunday, February 28. The theme of this year's celebration is "Going the Extra Mile" to highlight Experience Learning. Special events are planned throughout the week and some are now accepting reservations. A number of discounts will also be available for faculty during the week. New UT Student Veterans Resource Center to Open

The Veterans Resource Center is scheduled to open during the 2016-2017 academic year on the ground floor of John C. Hodges Library. While the location is being completed, a temporary space will open later this month in Dunford Hall Room 2417. Read more...
