Chancellor Cheek's Statement on Immigration Order

The recent executive order on immigration has caused confusion and concern among many members of our Volunteer family. We are committed to protecting the rights and opportunities extended to all members of our academic community, and we will continue to recruit, retain, and support faculty, staff, and students from around the world. The Center for International Education has been working to understand the implications of the executive order and is communicating with students, faculty, and staff who hold visas from the seven countries named to offer guidance and support. Dale Dickey to Receive CBT Artistic Achievement Award
Knoxville native and UT alumna Dale Dickey will be awarded the CBT Artistic Achievement Award at the Clarence Brown Theatre's annual gala on Saturday, May 20, at Jackson Terminal. Often referred to as the "reigning queen of Southern gothic," Dickey began acting at UT at age nine and participated in more than 20 productions before she became a theatre major at the university in 1979. Emery Part of New NASA Mission 'Lucy' to Explore Early Solar System
UT's Joshua Emery is part of a NASA mission that could provide new insight into one of the earliest eras in the history of our solar system. The project, named Lucy, is one of two recently selected by NASA to be formulated into missions. Emery will serve on the science team for Lucy. Read more...

HPC Wire has named joint UT-ORNL professor Jeffrey Vetter to its annual People to Watch list for 2017.
