Freshmen enrolled in a first-year studies course at UT will gain firsthand experience at radio broadcasting today.
WUTK 90.3 The Rock will hold the station’s seasonal fundraiser, Exam Jam XI, at 8:00 p.m. Friday, December 4, at The Concourse at the International. All proceeds benefit the nonprofit WUTK Gift Fund, helping to keep the self-supporting broadcast lab and station on the air.
WUTK 90.3 FM “The Rock,” UT Knoxville’s student-run modern rock radio station, was named as the station showing “Biggest Improvement” in the 2011 College Radio Awards, sponsored by the College Music Journal and held last weekend in New York City. This is the first CMJ award for WUTK, which won national recognition as the runner-up for “College Station of the Year” in the 2010 MTVU Woodie Awards.
WUTK 90.3 FM “The Rock,” UT Knoxville’s student-operated radio station, was voted the best radio station in Knoxville in Metro Pulse’s annual “Best Of Knoxville 2011” readers’ poll. This marked the sixth year in a row that WUTK has won this award.
