VolTech Gearing Up for Tax Holiday

The Tennessee Sales Tax Holiday is July 28-30, and the VolTech store on campus will have its in-store event on Friday, July 28. Tax-free sales will continue online on July 29-30.

Pre-Order Computers Ahead of Tax-Free Holiday

Tennessee’s sales tax holiday is Friday through Sunday, July 29–31. During this time, computers that cost less than $1,500 will be exempt from sales tax. VolTech invites faculty and staff to pre-order computers now at educational discounts and without sales tax, and pick them up after the tax holiday weekend.

Pre-order Computers from VolTech in Advance of the Sales Tax Holiday

Tennessee’s sales tax holiday is Friday through Sunday, August 1 through 3. During this time, computers costing less than $1,500 will be exempt from sales tax. VolTech invites faculty and staff to pre-order computers now at educational discounts and without sales tax, and pick them up after the tax holiday weekend. Eligible employees may place pre-orders using payroll deduction by July 30. Custom computer orders must be placed by July 15.

Free Income Tax Assistance Available

UT employees and their families with incomes less than $49,000 may be eligible to receive free assistance with preparing their income tax returns.

Changes in Income Tax Withholding

New withholding tables may reduce the amount of income tax withheld from your wages. The new tables, prescribed by the Department of the Treasury, reflect the Making Work Pay credit and other changes resulting from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009.
