Office of New Student and Family Programs

IIn support of becoming a Top 25 university, the Division of Student Life is combining the offices of the Parents Association and Student Orientation to create one office to serve students and their families. The Office of New Student and Family Programs will align goals related to ensuring student transitions to UT as well as parental involvement.

UT Student Orientation Kicks Off This Week

Twenty-four upperclassmen students at UT Knoxville are charged with one pretty big job: give hundreds of incoming freshmen a taste of UT life in just two days. It takes six weeks of 15-hour average workdays for these student orientation leaders to host the nearly 4,200 incoming freshmen — and about 4,000 parents — during UT’s freshman summer orientation.
