UT’s Social Media Week kicks off Monday and will be the most interactive in the event’s five-year history.
“The Power of Social Media” will be the theme of Social Media Week 2015, to be held March 30 through April 2.
The College of Communication and Information will host Social Media Week March 31–April 3 in the Communications Building on campus. The four-day event will feature presentations, panel discussions, and open forums with social media experts from BuzzFeed, ESPN, Scripps Network Interactive, Viggle, Sports Illustrated, AC Entertainment, and the US Coast Guard. Paul Finebaum, radio and television host for ESPN and 1978 UT political science graduate, will give the keynote address.
Melahnie Springfield, a graduate student in advertising, participated in UT’s first Social Media Week, April 25-26. Springfield and her teammates took part in a social media advertising campaign competition focusing on the Dell XPS 13 laptop computer. The competition was judged by Adam Brown, executive director of social media for Dell and a 1994 UT advertising graduate.
The College of Communication and Information’s School of Advertising and Public Relations will host Social Media Week, April 25-26, in the Communications Building on campus. The two-day event, cosponsored by Dell Inc., will feature presentations, panel discussions, and open forums with social media experts from Dell, Scripps Networks Interactive, Cox Enterprises and McCormick & Company, Inc., as well as Knoxville-area advertising, marketing, and public relations agencies.
