UT’s Ready for the World Café to Serve African Cuisine

Diners can sample Africa-style cuisine on Tuesday, November 15, at the Ready for the World Café at UT Knoxville. Lunch, which will consist of intermezzo or small appetizer, salad, entrée, and dessert, will be served from noon to 1:00 p.m. Tickets are $12 and must be purchased in advance. The faculty/staff discount card can be used.

UT Ready for the World Café’s Next Stop: India

Prepare your taste buds for lamb and couscous as the Ready for the World Café at UT Knoxville offers Indian cuisine on November 8. Lunch, which will consist of intermezzo, or small appetizer, salad, entrée, and dessert, will be served from noon to 1:00 p.m. Tickets must be purchased in advance and capacity is fifty to sixty diners. Aroi! Ready for the World Café Takes Exotic Excursion to Thailand

Diners will be saying “aroi” (delicious) after a four-course Thai meal Tuesday, November 1, at the Ready for the World Café. The café is a weekly, full-service, fine-dining experience with international themes that operates in the UT Visitors Center.This week’s event begins at 11:30 a.m. with a book signing by Allen R Coggins, author of “Place Names of the Smokies.” The book will be available for purchase.

The Ready for the World Café will offer a culinary Oktoberfest on October 11 with a four-course, authentic German luncheon. The Ready for the World Café is a weekly, full-service, fine-dining experience with international themes. It now operates in the UT Visitors Center, 2712 Neyland Drive.

Oooh La La: Ready for the World Café Offers French Cuisine on Sept. 27

Next week, foodies can enjoy French cuisine without leaving the UT Knoxville campus. The Ready for the World Café opens for business September 27 as a weekly, full-service, fine-dining experience with international themes. It will operate in the UT Visitors Center, 2712 Neyland Drive.

The Ready for the World Café is going on the road and changing its operation this fall. The café will no longer operate in the Hermitage Room of the University Center. Rather, it will operate in the UT Visitors Center, 2712 Neyland Drive, as a weekly, full-service, fine-dining experience with international themes.

Ready for the World Café Concludes Semester with Tropical Flair

The Ready for the World Café at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, will offer a tropical menu for its final week of the semester, April 18–21. The menu for this final week at the café is tropical salad, yummy honey chicken, sweet and spicy spinach, sweet and sour meatballs, Caribbean casserole, seafood gumbo, and almond wild rice.

UT’s Ready for the World Café Tours Italy, Visits Greece

Four parts Italian, two parts Greek and a dash of Americana: That’s the recipe for “delicious” at the Ready for the World Café at UT Knoxville for the week of March 28-31. The menu includes tomato and feta salad, chicken marsala (wine and mushroom sauce), Italian fish fillets, meat lasagna, moussaka (Greek meat and eggplant casserole), parmesan broccoli bake and Dutch potatoes (whipped potatoes with carrots and chives).

UT’s Ready for the World Café Returns from Spring Break with Flavor

With spring break now behind us and finals just over a month away, it’s time to buckle down and … eat! And the Ready for the World Café at UT Knoxville is there to help. The menu for the week of March 21-24 includes foods from Mexico, Italy, the Middle East and the U.S. The buffet will feature chipotle braised chicken; cioppino-style roasted crab; porchetta-style roast pork; spinach salad with almonds; braised bacon Carolina rice; steamed asparagus with cardamom butter; and couscous with fresh cilantro and lemon juice.
