Experience Learning is a bold new initiative to transform the educational experience for undergraduate and graduate students at UT. Over a five year period, UT will give students more opportunities to be involved in civic engagement, to solve complex real-world problems, and to contribute to the welfare of their communities as part of their regular coursework.

R. J. Hinde, who has been an associate dean in the College of Arts and Sciences for more than seven years, has been appointed the new vice provost for academic affairs. He will begin his new role on August 1.
Melanie D. Wilson, professor of law, associate dean for academic affairs, and director of diversity and inclusion at the University of Kansas School of Law, will be the new dean of the UT College of Law. Wilson will begin on July 1, 2015.
An election year is the perfect time consider what it means to be American. With that in mind, UT has chosen “The Accidental Asian: Notes of a Native Speaker” by Eric Liu as next year’s common reading selection for its Life of the Mind program.
