A 1960s science laboratory will serve as the setting for the Opera Theatre’s adaptation of Mozart’s Cosí Fan Tutte, an opera about the faithfulness of women. The spring opera will be presented Thursday, April 10, Saturday, April 12, and Sunday, April 13, at the Carousel Theatre.
UT’s Opera Theatre this month will present a modern-day adaptation of Mozart’s classic comedy, “The Marriage of Figaro,” where Elvis is star and pop culture takes center stage. The spring opera will debut Friday through Sunday, April 20 to 22, at the Carousel Theatre, 1714 Andy Holt Avenue.
Tickets are now on sale for the UT Opera Theatre production of Benjamin Britten’s comic opera “Albert Herring,” with performances Saturday, April 9, through Monday, April 11, at the Bijou Theatre. The performances are part of the Knoxville Rossini Festival, which also features a free Italian street fair Saturday, April 9, on Gay Street and Market Square, and Knoxville Opera performances of Vincenzo Bellini’s opera “I puritani (The Puritans)” Friday, April 8, and Sunday, April 10, at the Tennessee Theatre.
