UT Students Complete Program with Skills to Tackle World’s Grand Challenges

For the first time, a UT Knoxville student has completed a unique program designed to create a generation armed with skills to tackle life-changing problems. The Grand Challenge Scholars Program is an initiative of the National Academy of Engineering. Only twelve universities in the nation take part in the program. Mark Walker is graduating with a degree in nuclear engineering. His work has focused on preventing nuclear terror.
