UT Granted Approval to Purchase White Avenue Houses

UT has been granted state approval to purchase properties on White Avenue in Fort Sanders to build a new classroom/laboratory facility on Cumberland Avenue. The proposal to the State Building Commission helps UT address a significant shortfall of academic space. The Commission’s approval authorizes the purchase of three large houses. The new four-to-five story building will provide approximately 200,000 gross square feet of new academic space along Cumberland Avenue between the Jessie Harris Building and Hoskins Library.

News Sentinel: UT to invest millions in campus beautification

The Knoxville News Sentinel featured an effort by UT to add greenery and amenities to increase curb appeal. The project is part of an immediate face lift that will bring greenery to Volunteer Blvd., Presidential Court, landscape the engineering buildings behind Ayres Hall, add entrance pillars to Fraternity Park, and extend the existing pedestrian mall.

Master Plan Overview on Wednesday, April 13

Vice Chancellor for Finance and Administration Chris Cimino invites UT Knoxville faculty and staff to a presentation on the campus’ proposed master plan on Wednesday, April 13. The presentation will include an overview of the proposed plan and time for questions and feedback.
