A team of students from three UT colleges recently competed in Race to Zero, a national design competition hosted by the US Department of Energy.
At last week’s Honor’s Banquet, several faculty members were recognized with the Excellence in Teaching Award by Chancellor Jimmy G. Cheek. The recipents were Mark Dekay, an associate professor of architecture; Lois Presser, an associate professor of sociology; Andrew Sherfy, a lecturer in biosystems engineering and soil science; and Brian Stevens, a lecturer in statistics, operations, and management science.
Participants can get a whirlwind education on a variety of topics at Mic/Nite, where eleven UT faculty members will take turns making short presentations about their work. This semester’s Mic/Nite will be held on Thursday, March 13, at the Relix Variety Theatre, 1208 North Central Avenue. The event will begin at 5:30 p.m. with a social hour, including a cash bar and free pizza. Presentations will begin at 6:30 p.m. and conclude around 8:30 p.m. Door prizes will be awarded throughout the evening.
