The HathiTrust Digital Library has released an open dataset extracted from its collection of 13.7 million volumes that will enable novel research in history, linguistics, literary studies, economics, sociology, and many other fields. UT Libraries is a member of HathiTrust.

UT’s Dewey Named Dean of University Libraries at Penn State

Barbara Dewey, professor and dean of the University of Tennessee Libraries, has been named dean of University Libraries and Scholarly Communications at The Pennsylvania State University. The appointment is effective Aug. 1, 2010, pending approval of Penn State’s board of trustees.
