Jan Williams, dean emeritus and professor emeritus of UT’s College of Business Administration, received the John J. Fernandes Strategic Leadership Award, given by the Academy of Strategic and Entrepreneurial Leadership at the Allied Academies Spring 2014 International Conference.

The College of Business Administration has established the Jan R. Williams Endowed Professorship in honor of the college’s dean who will retire during the coming year. Williams, who currently holds the Stokely Foundation Leadership Chair, has been on the UT business faculty since 1977 and served as dean since 1999.
The search to select the next dean of the College of Business Administration has been extended. Provost Susan Martin decided to extend the process after meeting with the search committee and considering input from many different sources. Dean Jan Williams has agreed to continue serving until the post is filled permanently.
Jan Williams, dean of the College of Business Administration at UT Knoxville, will be retiring June 30, 2012. A search committee has been formed to find his replacement. Williams became dean of the college on July 2, 2001, but he had served as acting dean since July 2000 when his predecessor, Warren Neel, was named state commissioner of finance and administration by Tennessee Governor Don Sundquist.
Jan R. Williams, dean of the College of Business Administration at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, has begun a one-year term as chair of the board of directors of the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business.
