By now you should have received all the information you need to make decisions for you and your family about UT’s health, dental, and flexible benefit plans for next year. The annual enrollment transfer period for UT’s health insurance program is October 1 through November 1. Open enrollment for UT’s Flexible Benefits Plan is open until November 30.
The annual Autumn in Knoxville Fall Festival is just one week away. Each year, thousands of Knoxville-area faculty and staff attend this employee appreciation event for, food, and giveaways. This year’s event will focus on little-known perks and benefits available to UT employees. The fun kicks off at 11:30 a.m., Friday, September 30, at the TRECS complex. The event ends at 3:00 p.m.
Human Resources staff began training this week to inform supervisors about the Compensation Advisory Board (CAB). Supervisors in every college, department, and office will be asked to attend. An e-mail with the schedule will be sent to all supervisors. Training will focus on CAB’s purpose and upcoming initiatives, including implementation of the minimum starting pay rate increase for regular full- and part-time employees to $8.50 an hour, effective July 1.
Beginning Monday, Aug. 9, UT Knoxville-area faculty and staff will have a new service at their fingertips which will help maintain a safe and healthy environment for the UT community. The new 946-CARE hotline will offer an avenue for employees to share their concerns for themselves or others.
The Exempt Staff Council is accepting nominations for representatives from several areas. The deadline to submit a nomination is Wednesday, June 30. “Quarterly, I meet with the UT Employee Relations Advisory Board to address concerns from UT employees,” Interim President Jan Simek said after the ERAB June meeting. “As you know, the ERAB is a statewide group of employees elected to represent you by voicing your concerns during these meetings.”
The newest issue of Employee and Organizational Development’s employee course catalog “Training Pages” is now available online with course listings for July through December.
I would like to encourage you to attend the annual Autumn Festival — a tribute to UT employees — from 11:30 a.m. until 3 p.m. tomorrow at TRECS. Due to weather concerns, all festival activities will be held indoors. This annual employee appreciation event hosted by Human Resources always draws several thousand staff and faculty. It’s one of my favorite days because so much is going on — bingo, ice cream, music, vendors, door prizes and catered lunch.
After Aug. 1, university pay statements will only be available online. Read on for additional information on accessing your electronic statement and where to go with questions.
