“Do Deutsch!,” this year’s October celebration of all things German, continues at UT Knoxville with “Do Deutsch!” Week, October 10-14. Starting in late August, a series of creativity contests were held on campus relating to the theme “German(y) in Your Life.” Each entry was to explore an element of Germany, such as its culture, its language, or its influence on America.
The German Saturday School of Knoxville is currently enrolling students of all ages and proficiency levels for the 2011-2012 school year. The school was founded by UT faculty in 2004. Since that time, it has served the Knoxville community by offering German classes for children, teenagers, and adults. Classes are held at Sacred Heart Cathedral School on Saturday mornings from 9:30 a.m. to noon. The new school year begins September 17.
