Vols Dedicate House For Local Family

The Tennessee football team continues to give back to the community. On Saturday, a house built by the Vols was dedicated to Kim Dixon and her family in South Knoxville. Throughout the summer the Vols have built different portions of Dixon’s new home after her previous home was lost in a fire. Saturday’s ceremony was the culmination of hard work and teamwork by every member of the football team.

Saturday is also Senior Day, when fourteen seniors on the football team will be honored for their contributions as student-athletes. Kickoff is set for 7:02 p.m. Saturday. Volunteer fans can now read about thrilling victories and crushing defeats, influential coaches and dedicated players throughout the history of Tennessee football. Football programs dating back to 1904 are available online as the newest addition to the digital collections on the UT Knoxville Libraries website.

UT Knoxville will celebrate Homecoming with an in-state football match-up and a variety of events for alumni and fans of all ages. “The Clash of the Tennesseans” will pit the Volunteers against the Middle Tennessee State University Blue Raiders on Saturday, November 5, in Neyland Stadium. Kickoff is set for 7:00 p.m.
