College of Arts and Sciences Honors Outstanding Faculty

Sixteen faculty in UT Knoxville’s College of Arts and Sciences were honored for their extraordinary accomplishments at the college’s annual celebration of faculty on November 29, 2011. Awards were presented for excellence in teaching, research, student advising, outreach, and service.

UT Knoxville to Award More than 600 Graduate Degrees

UT Knoxville will hold its annual fall graduate hooding ceremony at 4:30 p.m., Thursday, December 8, in Thompson-Boling Arena. A total of 607 graduate students will receive advanced degrees, including eighty-nine earning the doctor of philosophy degree, two specialists in education, 496 master’s degrees, and twenty graduate certificates. In addition, students will be recognized who earned degrees in the summer 2011 term. The ceremony will be webcast live.

UT Alumna Benita Fitzgerald Mosley to Speak at Fall Commencement

Olympic gold medalist and UT alumna Benita Fitzgerald Mosley will address graduates at the fall commencement ceremony for UT Knoxville at 9:00 a.m. Friday, December 9, in the Thompson-Boling Arena. Undergraduate and graduate students who have completed degree programs during the summer or fall semesters will receive diplomas.
