The Graduate Architecture Program has established new certificate programs and concentrations to enhance its full-time master’s program and to provide graduate study options for industry professionals. The certificate programs and concentrations in high-performance buildings and conservation and stewardship begin in fall 2012.They join two other recently added areas of study: urban design and sustainability.

Living Light, UT Knoxville’s solar-powered house, is moving to Nashville as part of a multi-city tour of the state. The 750-square-foot home will be featured at the Tennessee Valley Authority Energy Efficiency Forum February 21—22. The house will then be on display at Centennial Park from February 29 to April 1.
Professor Edgar Stach is the first faculty member of the College of Architecture and Design to receive a joint appointment with the Oak Ridge National Laboratory and the university. Through the year-long position at ORNL, Stach will research and develop technologies and methods to achieve cost effective, energy-efficient applications for high-performing retrofitted and new buildings.
