Dolly Parton Writes Book Based on UT Address

In 2009, east Tennessee native Dolly Parton gave a memorable commencement address at UT that became a YouTube sensation. In her speech, Parton urged graduates to “dream more, learn more, care more, and do more.” Parton has turned that message into a new book, Dream More: Celebrate the Dreamer in You.

Capacity Crowd Expected Friday for Arts and Sciences Commencement

UT Knoxville will give East Tennessee native and acclaimed musician Dolly Parton an honorary doctorate degree during the College of Arts and Sciences Commencement ceremony, 9 a.m. Friday, May 8, at Thompson-Boling Arena. Graduates and their guests are expected to fill the arena to capacity.
