UT Presents Statewide High School Contest Winners with Scholarships

Hundreds of Tennessee high school students will descend on UT this fall and put their mathematics skills to the test during this year’s UT Pro2Serve math competition. Scholarships for High School Students to Be Awarded in Math Contest

There are buzzers, eliminations, and fierce competition. But there is no football, and certainly no calculators, in this bowl. The UT–Pro2Serve Math Contest, hosted by UT on Thursday, November 6, will award ten bright students each a $6,000 annual scholarship to UT.

Excellence in Academic Outreach, Global Awareness Recognized at Annual Honors Banquet

At the campus’s annual Honors Banquet last week, Chancellor Jimmy G. Cheek celebrated faculty, staff, and students for their accomplishments throughout the past academic year. Suzanne Lenhart, a mathematics professor and Chancellor’s Professor, was recognized for her excellence in academic outreach. Michael Handelsman, director of global studies, received the Ready for the World Award.
