One of the biggest stumbling blocks to having successful relationships lies within. That’s the somewhat startling finding of a study conducted by graduate student Jerika Norona and Professor Deborah Welsh, both of the psychology department, which Welsh heads.

A UT study on relationships has some unexpected results.
World-renowned neuroscientist Subimal Datta joined the faculty this spring. He comes to UT from the Boston University School of Medicine, where he was a professor of psychiatry, neurology, and behavioral neuroscience and director for the Sleep and Cognitive Neuroscience Research Laboratory.
Deborah Welsh is the new department head of psychology. She served as associate head for the past year and has been the director of the graduate program in clinical psychology. She is a graduate of the 2010-11 UT’s Women’s Leadership Program.
